The Origin

The ancient tradition
of 'Teerthyatra', in fact had tremendous social significance.
This religious-cum-social
tradition was the easiest way of bringing people
belonging to various parts and sects of the country
close to each other, socially. ethically and morally.
Hence social harmony was the natural consequence
of Teerthayatra. |
The Vision

With the change
of time, modus operandi of Teerthayatra also changed.
The residents of deep forests i.e, Vanvasis, who once
upon a time had welcomed served, helped and guided
Teerthayatries throughout their pilgrimage, are long
forgotten.
From the times of Ramayana
and Mahabharata to the periond of freedom struggle Vanvasis
have made numerous sacrifices for the greater cause of
the nation.
They are inseparable part
of our society. The relationship has to be revived once
again. |

About FTS

FTS is an answar
to the silent call of the Vanvasi. The pain behind
their smiles, the longing in their dettached looks.
the turmoil behind their calm, all are sensed and acknowledged
by FTS.
FTS was formed by the very first group o Vanyatries on 14th January 1989.
Since then it has grown into a full fledged organisation. It is a registered
charitable society. Its main emphasis is on providing education and medical
facitities to vanvasis and other weaker sections of the society. who constitute
25 percent of the total population of Bhartvarsha.
Vanyatra is the most significatnt and effective programme of FTS. |

Vanyatra takes you
right at the doorstep of Vanvasis' Kuthia (thached
hut). It begins from the nearest railway station of
a tribal area, such as Ranchi in Bihar and Berhampur
in Orissa in deluxe buses.
It is normally two to three days journey through tribal villages with stopovers
at different project sites to see one teacher schools. hostels. dispensaries.
Khel Kood Kendra, Satsand Kendra, Lok Kala Mandal and training centres
of self reliance schemes for tribal youth.
Board & lodging and proper care(throughtout the yatra), are provided
by us. Our team of Karyakartas look after all the arrangements. |
